January 1, 2008 welcomes a nearly completed exterior and nears the rough-in inspection points for the framing, plumbing, electric and HVAC.

VaDance Studio progress continues.......

The new facility completes the halfway point by the end of 2007.  The exterior is almost finished.  The brick work was done by Juan Puente and his crew.  Winston Mann did the roof, while Jake Burnopp of Burnopp Metal finishes off the trim and guttering work.  Jamie at Appomattox Glass assists in the storefront window selections.  The interior work is nearing the half way point with Jim Quattlebaum (Plumbing), Robert Moore (HVAC) and Buster Beasley (Electrician) staying diligent.

Rus Burnette continues with framing and roof work.  Below, Rus is "on the roof".

Rus does the prep work for the roof and Winston Mann and his crew get the building under roof during the first weeks in December 2007.

The interior work continues with rough plumbing by Jim Quattlebaum and crew.  The HVAC rough-in begins in December with Robert Moore of Moore's Heating & Cooling.  The rough-in work continues with Buster Bealsey of Beasley Electric doing the electric related work.

ICF walls are selected by Steve and Donna as an innovative and "green" building product.  The exterior walls are already well insulated by the use of the ICF wall system.  The interior walls are pre-insulated and only the stick built portion and the ceiling and roof need additional insulation.

Charlie Padgett designs and supervises the sidewalk for the new building.  Paving will follow as soon as weather permits.  The sidewalk is poured the 2nd week of January during a short warm spell.

The addition of a 5,000 square foot dance and office space will open in the first quarter of 2008.

Stay Tuned for the latest updates........

Steve and Donna consult with the Pine Hall Brick Representative Karen Douglas and order the brick for the job.  Brick work starts in early December.

Joyce with Boxley Brick is instrumental in keeping the necessary materials on the job in a timely fashion.

Chesapeake Pearl from Pine Hall is the primary brick used with accents done in Newport from Lawrenceville.

The front of the building is started the week before Christmas.  If the weather holds out the brick work will be completed the first week of 2008.

The back and right side of the building is completed by Juan Puente and his crew the week of Christmas 2007.
Steve Neighbors Co-owner and General Contractor with his wife Donna Barringer Neighbors, is consulting with Juan to determine the final brick order.
The first week of 2008 Jake Burnopp and his crew are installing the trim and guttering.  The brick work is nearing completion with only final touches remaining.  Appomattox Glass has installed the storefront windows.

By January 6th most of the exterior is complete.  The building still has a few more touches remaining.  Exterior lighting will be added by Buster Beasley, Canopy Arches will be added over the side doors, final grading and the parking lots remains.

The new building is nearing the final stages on the exterior.  Lighting, awnings and final landscaping and paving remain.  The interior is moving along as well.  The HVAC, electric, plumbing and framing inspections were completed and passed on January 22nd.  Permanent power should be on by the 2nd week in February.

2008 - New Ballroom Dance & Movement Studio will open.......
